The SLUG Games Amateur Ski and Snowboard series is sliding out its first contest of 2015. Count January 10 as the start of the 14th annual jam contest known as the Battle at Basin. Snowbasin will host the free events- men’s and women’s open divisions in both ski and snowboard, along with men’s and women’s 17 and under snowboard and men’s and women’s 17 & under ski. Riders compete in a jam style format dropping into a slick, custom battlefield course, designed by the SLUG Games team and executed by the Snowbasin Park Crew.
The SLUG Games has seen the likes of established pros such as Body Merrill, Stevie Bell and Gabby Maiden, along with up-and-comers Christian Hobush, Alex Andrews and Sean Black, among others. The series has made a name for itself among local riders by hosting a variety of themed amateur contests.
